A smartphone app that matches people with their nearest abortion provider launches across Canada on Wednesday.

The web-based app was developed by Waterloo region’s Shore Centre, a sexual health resource centre.

  1. The development demonstrates how imagination and political will can facilitate access to morally contested services without suppressing health care workers’ freedom of conscience. It should be technically feasible to incorporate contact information for euthanasia and assisted suicide practitioners or agencies into Choice Connect. Alternatively, the technology could be copied and used for standalone EAS services.
