{"id":9563,"date":"2019-06-11T11:58:52","date_gmt":"2019-06-11T18:58:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.consciencelaws.org\/?p=9563"},"modified":"2019-09-21T12:05:54","modified_gmt":"2019-09-21T19:05:54","slug":"administration-looking-into-bringing-doctor-to-guam-to-provide-abortions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.consciencelaws.org\/?p=9563","title":{"rendered":"Administration looking into bringing doctor to Guam to provide abortions"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><em>Pacific Daily News<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"author\">Jasmine Stole Weiss<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\n            The administration is looking into recruiting a doctor to&nbsp;provide abortions here, said Jayne Flores, director of the Bureau of Women&#8217;s Affairs.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\n            Flores said she will be having a closed-door meeting with Department of Public Health and Social Services officials this week&nbsp;to address the issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\n            They&#8217;ll meet &#8220;to talk about a plan to recruit a doctor,&#8221; Flores said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\n            The meeting is in response to the fact that no abortions have been reported&nbsp;since Dr. William Freeman retired last year in May. For years, Guam had two abortion providers in Freeman and Dr. Edmund Griley. Both retired.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>             No other doctor on island advertises that service. . .
