This policy sets out\u00a0physicians\u2019 legal obligations under the Ontario <em>Human Rights <em>Code (<\/em><\/em>the<em><em> <em>Code<\/em>) <\/em><\/em>and the College\u2019s expectations that physicians will respect the fundamental rights of those who seek their medical services. It aims to assist the profession in understanding its existing legal and professional obligations<em>, <\/em>and provide physicians with guidance about how to comply with these obligations in everyday practice<em>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>View the <a title=\"Physicians and the Ontario Human Rights Code\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cpso.on.ca\/Policies-Publications\/Policy\/Physicians-and-the-Ontario-Human-Rights-Code\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #0066cc;\">current policy<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p>To assist with this review, we are inviting feedback from all stakeholders, including members of the medical profession, the public, health system organizations and other health professionals on the current policy. Comments received during this preliminary consultation will assist the College in updating the policy.
