However,<br \/>\nafter a particularly gruesome experience he experienced a conflict of conscience<br \/>\nand tried to avoid further involvement in the process. His initial attempt was<br \/>\nrejected and he was met with various forms of pressure to continue his<br \/>\nparticipation. He eventually left China and appeared before a subcommittee of<br \/>\nthe US House of Representatives, where he provided the following testimony.
